Mission Statement
 To work in collaboration with multiple agencies across St. Louis Metropolitan area in order to problem solve mental health issues addressing our families and communities.
 
 Specific strategies:
  1. Increasing public awareness of children's behavioral health issues;
  2. Providing on-going communication between professions to facilitate __coordinated services and a cohesive system of care for children's mental health;
  3. Promoting professional eduation, cross-training and development.

 

Organization History
 
The Children's Behavioral Health Coaltition (CBHC) started out as Strategy #25 of thirty comprehensive strategies for the Saint Louis Metropolitan Children's Agenda under the auspices of Visions For Children at Risk.  
 
Members
 
CBHC members are  made up of an interdisciplinary team of behavioral health professionals  in the  Metropolitan St Louis region.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday every month at Edgewood Children's Center
3:00 PM-4:30 PM
 

 

Professional Values

 

  1.  Mental health is essential for the __overall well-being of children;
  2. Equal access to behavioral health __services for all children and __families is fundamental in the __development of a cohesive ystem __of care;
  3. Developing services andnetworks __of providers that are community __based is central to a successful __system of care;
  4. Improving access and liminating __transprotation and other barriers __is a priority for creating a __continuum of care;
  5. Family involvement in services __provided to their children ensures __healthy outcomes;
  6. Supporting the growth and __development of professionals is __essentail to providing quality __services;
  7. Supporting services that are __evidence-based and/or best __practice such that the community __can benefit from successes in __other agencies/communities.
